RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A 13-year-old boy was airlifted Monday evening to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after he ran into a vehicle with his bike in Seagrove.

The accident occurred around 5 p.m. Monday on Little Beane Store Road.

According to the Courier-Tribune, two boys, both 13, were riding their bikes in the woods, then onto Little Beane Store Road to get away from a dog that was chasing them. They both struck a passing vehicle.

The other boy ran into the side of the car and was treated on the scene by Randolph County EMS.

The identities of the boys have not been released. No charges are expected. The condition of the boy in the hospital was not available.

Catherwood, who responded to the accident scene, noted that the boys were not wearing bike helmets.

No charges yet. I bet the driver gets charged for the boys ignorance. The boys or parents need to be charged and pay for any damage that they have caused to the vehicle.
