Suspect sought in High Point bank robbery

HIGH POINT, N.C. — Police are looking for a man they say robbed a bank in High Point Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to the robbery at First Citizens Bank on North Main Street around 10:09 a.m.

The suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note  demanding money. He then fled the down Westwood Avenue on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Officers tracked the suspect’s path to a parking lot on East Westwood Avenue where it appears a dye pack exploded. The money from the dye pack and a small pistol were also found in the parking lot.

The suspect is described as an older black male wearing a burgundy hoodie, blue cap, and thick prescription glasses.

The investigation is ongoing.
