Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office warns residents of scam
ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office is warning people of a scam they said is taking place in both Rockingham and Henry counties.
Deputies said one scammer will approach a home and pretend to be a Federal Emergency Management Agency agent to lure the homeowner outside.
While this is happening, deputies said another person will enter the home and steal items.
Deputies did not say how many times this has allegedly happened or any details on the suspects.
Authorities said if this happens to anyone, they should call 911 or the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office at (336) 634-3065.
