Woman accused of assaulting disabled grandmother in argument over car
SALISBURY, N.C. — An argument over a car led to a disabled 73-year-old woman being beaten at the hands of her own granddaughter, according to a report at the Rowan Sheriff’s Office.
WBTV is reporting that Christel Jazmyne House, 22, had no place to live, so she moved into her grandmother’s house. On Wednesday, she asked if she could borrow the car.
The grandmother refused, fearing that her granddaughter was involved in drugs, according to WBTV.
Officials say the woman became irate and hit her grandmother several times.
House was charged with simple assault on a handicapped person and second degree trespassing. She was jailed under $3,000 bond.
The grandmother was treated at the scene by Rowan EMS.
