ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities have released the identity of the body found Friday in a plastic container in Alamance County.

The body has been identified as Deedra Louise Washburn, 41, of 1904 Morningside Drive in Burlington.

Burlington police have arrested a woman in connection with her death.

Angela Bookout Frazier, 43, is charged with one count each of burning one’s own dwelling and concealment of a death.

Officers initially responded to a fire at 1039 Washington Street in Burlington around noon Friday.

On the same day, police said a highway maintenance worker found a storage container near the intersection of Bellemont-Mount Hermon Road and Southern High School Road, about seven-and-a-half miles from the house fire with a woman’s body inside.

Frazier was arrested in connection with both the woman’s death and the fire.

Officers said there were no visible signs of blunt force trauma or other wounds on the victim. The body was taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Chapel Hill for an autopsy.
