ASU student from Waxhaw hospitalized after 70-foot fall from mountain

WAXHAW, N.C. — An Appalachian State University student from Waxhaw is recovering in the hospital after falling 70 feet from a mountain over the weekend.

According to WSOC, Chad Mullins is in good condition.

Mullins fell Saturday while rappelling with friends in the Little Cove area near the Blue Ridge Parkway in Avery County.

It was reported that he has a serious shoulder injury and a possible head injury.
