The Ultimate Warrior, one of professional wrestling’s biggest superstars, has died, WWE announced late Tuesday night.
He was 54.
This comes just days after the Ultimate Warrior, also known as James Hellwig, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
“WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior,” a statement reads.
Warrior began his WWE career in 1987 and quickly went on to become one of the biggest stars in WWE history. Warrior became WWE Champion at WrestleMania VI, defeating Hulk Hogan in an epic encounter.
The official cause of his death is not known.
TMZ is reporting that Warrior collapsed outside an Arizona hotel while walking to his car with his wife.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
