WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Volunteers and law enforcement officers from several agencies will go door to door Tuesday afternoon searching for information about the shooting deaths of two men last month, Winston-Salem police said.

The Violent Crimes Task Force Response will gather at Union Baptist Church located at 1200 N. Trade Street at 2 p.m. The group will be briefed and then divided into teams that will respond to the affected communities.

The community initiative is in response to the deaths of Christopher Dasean Jones, 23, and Christopher Rashawn Thompson, 22. Thompson was found shot to death on March 23 in the 2500 block of Gilmer Avenue.

Jones was found shot to death in the 2100 block of North Cleveland Avenue on March 28.
