Police called after suspicious item found at apartment complex

BURLINGTON, N.C. – Police said they’re investigating after a suspicious item was found in the parking lot of Woodspring Apartments.

Burlington police said they responded to the incident around 3:30 p.m. Saturday at 7548 Woodspring Drive.

Officials said the apartment was partially evacuated, but later reopened. Police said there were no injuries.

Burlington officials said the Greensboro Police Department Hazardous Devices Team was contacted and responded to the scene. They conducted a render safe procedure and were able to determine that the device was not made of an explosive material.

The Burlington Fire Department, Burlington Emergency Management, Guilford County Sheriff’s Office and Guilford County EMS assisted at the scene.
