FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — One of the two southbound lanes of U.S. 52 South near Rural Hall will be closed most of next week as part of a $7.8-million bridge replacement project in Forsyth County.

Officials said the one-mile closure of the left lane will be in effect from 6 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, through 6 a.m. on Monday, April 14.

It is preparation for temporarily switching southbound traffic onto a newly-constructed northbound bridge after the Easter weekend.

Officials said motorists can expect delays during the morning commute, and are urged to use caution and follow the speed limit while approaching the construction area.

Drivers can check for traffic issues in advance of hitting the road by checking the , or by calling 511 and following the voice prompts for information.
