REDISVILLE, N.C. — Reidsville Senior High School, Reidsville Middle School and South End Elementary were placed on a lockdown Friday morning after someone called the school and said a student had a weapon.

Rockingham County Schools spokeswoman Karen Hyler confirmed someone called the school’s front office and said a student had a weapon.

Hyler said she does not know what time the call came in.

“We take any threat like this very seriously,” Hyler said.

The lockdowns were initiated around 10:30 a.m. Both lockdowns were lifted at 12 p.m.

Hyler said officials found one small pocketknife and some tobacco products.
