Kaprisha Charnelle Bell, 22, of Kannapolis

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – A North Carolina woman is accused of severely burning a 2-year-old child she was babysitting, according to the Independent Tribune.

Kaprisha Charnelle Bell, 22, of Kannapolis, was arrested Wednesday in Concord and faces charges of felony child abuse and inflicting serious bodily injury.

Police said they were called to Carolinas Medical Center-Kannapolis last Wednesday in response to a young girl with severe burns.

Officials said the child was later taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for further treatment.

Officers said the toddler sustained the burns at a home in the 1100 block of Northside Street in Kannapolis.

Authorities have not specifically said how the child was burned. The suspect was apparently babysitting her roommate’s child.

Bell was placed in the Cabarrus County Jail under a $5,000 bond and has court planned for April 24.

    Ok…this makes no sense.

The lady the other day had her two 3yr old twins locked in a room for days with no food and deplorable conditions gets charged with 2 misdemeanor’s and a $6000.00 bond, then we have this one charged with a felony and gets a $5000.00 bond?!?!?!

All the recent news stories involving children make me so sad. I think there are some people that should be forced to have their reproductive organs removed.

Being a parent is a gift..if you don’t want them give them to someone that does!!!!!!!

i totally agree celdan33!!! being a parent is a gift!!!!not all people can have the privilege to have children, i thank God for my babygirl everyday!!!!

Me too Ashley…I have a 9 year old girl that is absolutely the love of my life and my only goal in life is to be the best Mom I can be to her, and that’s all I want to be remembered for.

Our #1 job as a parent is to protect our children and I would die doing so.

What is wrong with people? How can anybody hurt a child? I don’t understand and I will never understand. There needs to be harsh punishment for doing so.

if you werent there when this happened then u dont know what really happened. Only God and Kaprisha know what really happened. The news and newspapers put what they have heard and it is only one persons side of the story and not both sides of the story..the truth is somewhere in the middle. Kaprisha is not the kind of person who would harm a child on purpose however in this case did she make some very poor choices? Yes she did and she will live with the consequences of those choices and so will the child and her family but to comment on here and talk ish that u dont know for a fact is ignorant on your part. God,is the judge not you.
