11 injured when Rowan Co. school bus crashes in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Officials said 11 people were injured when a Rowan County school bus crashed in Charlotte after the bus driver backed into a wall.

Authorities told WBTV that it happened along the 5700 block of Providence Road around 11 a.m. Friday.

Most of the injuries are considered to be minor and none were considered serious, according to authorities.

Officials said the Rowan County students were on a field trip to the Jewish Community Center at the time.

Students on board the Rowan-Salisbury Schools bus were said to be between 12 and 13-years-old.
