Accused Winston-Salem drug trafficker held on $1.2 million bond

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Winston-Salem man is being held on a $1.2 million bond after an investigation led to his arrest and multiple drug trafficking charges.

Johnmorro Jamelle Smith, 35, was arrested on March 19, a month after investigators searched a house on Yadkinville Road.

Winston-Salem police said agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency took part in the raid.

Authorities seized two pieces of property, 3740 Yadkinville Road and 1211 Marne St.,  as well as a 2011 Dodge Challenger, a 2001 Kawasaki motorcycle and two handguns.

Police also seized 387 grams of cocaine and 562 grams of marijuana.

Smith is charged with trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession of firearm by felon, maintaining a dwelling for drug purposes, and manufacturing marijuana.
