Terminally ill father walks 11-year-old down the ‘aisle’ during emotional ceremony

LOS ANGELES — A California man diagnosed with terminal cancer wanted to give his 11-year-old daughter a memory she’ll treasure for years to come, so he walked her down the aisle during an emotional ceremony.

Jim Metz, 62, has pancreatic cancer and has accepted that he won’t be around to watch his daughter get married. Photographer Lindsey Natzic Villatoro came up with the idea to have a “wedding” for Josie so she could always remember the day her father walked her down the aisle.

“Your dad may not get to see you get married, but he is here to walk you down the aisle today,” Pastor Gary Galbraith said.

At the end of the ceremony, the pastor pronounced them “daddy and daughter.”

The family is in Hawaii enjoying a family vacation/honeymoon.

Are you an idiot? He wants his daughter to have good memories, she is sad because he has cancer not because he is walking her down the aisle.

Just stop using that name here. This is a local news station comments section, surely it is not a deep part of what makes up your personality. No one knows who anyone here is, nor do most care.
Just use a different name and the person pretending to be “you” will stop once they see you’re not appearing to be active anymore. Problem solved.

Very heartwarming and sad at the same time but not be insensitive but this man was having kids at 51?! Cancer or not he is a CHAMP in my eyes

Almost every daughter dreams of having her daddy walk her down the aisle. This will be a wonderful memory for them both.
His age has nothing to do with it .
