Asheboro teen charged after string of vehicle break-ins
ASHEBORO, N.C. — Police have arrested a teenager in connection with a string of motor vehicle break-ins in Randolph County.
According to police, numerous calls were made on Wednesday in reference to motor vehicles being broken into in the vicinity of Mechanic Road.
Following an investigation, deputies received suspect descriptions as well as information on a possible location of the suspects involved. Contact was made with one of the suspects.
James Parker Sexton, 17, of Asheboro, was arrested and charged with four counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, two counts of misdemeanor possession of stolen goods, two counts of misdemeanor larceny; and one count each of breaking and entering, possession of burglary tools, felony larceny, felony possession of stolen goods, injury to personal property, injury to real property, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a concealed weapon and resisting a public officer.
An investigation is ongoing and other charges may be forthcoming.
