5-hour standoff in Thomasville ends peacefully, suspect in custody

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — A 5-hour standoff between a wanted man and police ended peacefully in Thomasville Friday.

Police say they got a call about a suspect messing with cars in the area overnight. They responded and a foot chase led to the suspect being taken into custody.

The suspect provided police with information about stolen property they led them to the 1300 block of Unity Street.

When officers responded, a man barricaded himself in a mobile home and refused to talk.

The standoff ended five hours later around 11:15 a.m. without injuries.

There is no further information at this time.

    I hope this person is happy with himself. I live in the neighborhood he was caught in & is possibly the one who broke into my husbands truck just a few weeks ago.
