The FIRST Robotics program is one that inspires students to learn about Science while giving back to their community.

"FIRST" stands for "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology."

A FIRST team #2655, or as they call themselves, The Flying Platypi, stopped by FOX8 Monday morning to show off their robotic skills.

The group from Colfax brought along a robot they built in just six weeks.

FIRST Robotics promotes STEM, which stands for Science, Technology, Electrical and Mathematics in education.
