Fire destroys mobile home in Lexington

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. -- A mobile home is a total loss after an early morning fire in Lexington Monday.

Crews responded to the home at 1235 Pine Top Road around 3:30 a.m.

According to Reeds Fire Department, homeowners were in the living room when they smelled smoke.

They found it coming from a hot water heater in a bedroom closet.

Everyone got out of the home safely.

The exact cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials do not suspect foul play.

The home is a total loss due to the smoke damage.
