High Point Andrews beats Bandys, wins 2A state championship

RALEIGH, N.C. — Imani Watkins scored 27 points to help High Point Andrews beat Catawba Bandys 57-51 in the Class 2-A North Carolina High School Athletic Association women’s championship game.

Watkins was named the most valuable player of Saturday’s game for Andrews (25-5), which shot just 32 percent but rallied from 13 points down to win the title in the school’s first finals appearance.

Brie Grier added 10 points for the Red Raiders.
