GREENSBORO, N.C. – Thousands of fans gather for the “Tournament Town Goes Downtown Block Party” at Ham’s Restaurant on South Elm Street.

The free concert was a joint venture between Ham's Restaurant, The Greensboro Coliseum and the city of Greensboro.

Greensboro police stationed 18 officers to monitor crowds and drinking at the event.

Syracuse fan and Ohio resident Jeff Dawley said even though his team lost, he decided to stay to enjoy what Greensboro has to offer.

“We could have gone on a plane and gone home a lot of people did, but we wanted to experience Greensboro,” Dawley said.

Ham's officials would not release how much the event cost.
