Robbery suspect arrested after victim fights back

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man accused of trying to rob another man in Charlotte was beaten by the victim and later arrested by police.

WBTV reported that Jatravian Arkelle Robinson, 18, of Charlotte, has been charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police said Robinson was one of two armed suspects who approached the victim outside his home around 12:30 a.m. Friday, demanding money.

The victim fought back, with the help of a family member, and held Robinson until police arrived. Police said the victim and suspect both sustained minor injuries during the incident.

The suspect was arrested after being taken to the hospital, according to police. Police said they are still looking for the second suspect, currently unidentified.
