Asheboro man charged in string of armed robberies

ASHEBORO, N.C. — An Asheboro man has been charged in connection with a string of armed robberies in multiple Piedmont counties.

Asheboro Police and Greensboro Police excuted a search warrant at a home on Regency Drive, Randleman, and arrested a man they say robbed several stores in the area.

Adrian Michael Polanco, 25, of 2266 Regency Drive, Randleman, was charged with multiple counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Charges include the armed robbery that occurred at the Quik Chek located at 527 Old Liberty Road in Asheboro on Feb. 28.

The additional robbery charges involved incidents that occurred in Greensboro, Burlington and Forsyth County.

Polanco is being held at the Guilford County Jail under a $1,012,000 secured bond.
