March is filled with basketball and that is not just limited to college.

This week, the high school basketball playoffs will come to an end with the High School Basketball State Championships taking place Saturday in Raleigh and Chapel Hill.

The Piedmont Triad has three teams vying to claim a state championship.

The Bishop McGuinness girls’ basketball team is going for their ninth straight state championship.

High Point Andrews has already won a state football championship this school year and the girls’ basketball team is hoping to add some more hardware to the school's trophy case.

The Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy boys’ basketball team will be trying to claim a state championship, but that is a familiar spot for them. Winston-Salem Prep has reached the finals four times in the past seven years, including three straight.

High Point Andrews plays at the Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh. Winston-Salem Prep and Bishop McGuinness play at the Smith Center in Chapel Hill.
