GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — Approximately 4,300 lineman from Duke Energy crews statewide, Florida the Midwest and other contractors are working to restore power in Guilford County.
Duke Energy Storm Assessment Director Jeff Riggins said that many crews have to rebuild broke poles and realign the wires.
“The next priority is going to be restore the facilities that are going to bring the most customers back on the quickest,” Riggins said.
Brenda Wade in Greensboro worries she’ll be one of the last households restored because she lives on a dead end off of Alamance Church Road.
“We just try to make the best of what we can and pray that Duke power remembers us out here,” Wade said.
At the peak of the storm, more than 145,000 Duke Energy households were without power.
Officials ask for patience as they work and check the outages maps and estimation on their website.
