Duke Energy releases estimated power restoration times

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Duke Energy has released a list of estimated times that power is expected to be restored in areas across the Piedmont.

Crews are out working to restore power after a storm hit the area Friday, causing downed trees and power lines, strong winds and heavy power outages.

About 100,000 people were still without power in Guilford County as of Saturday afternoon. The number was down to about 33,000 by Monday morning.

There are also several thousand in Alamance, Randolph, Davidson and other Piedmont areas.

Power was restored to High Point City customers (not Duke) by Sunday, according to High Point City Manager Strib Boynton.

Some areas declared state of emergencies including Guilford County, Greensboro and Burlington.

Caswell – Wednesday, 11 p.m.

Chatham – Tuesday, 11 p.m.

Davidson – Wednesday, 11 p.m.

Durham – Sunday, noon

Forsyth – Tuesday, 11 p.m.

Granville – Sunday, noon

Guilford – Wednesday, 11 p.m.

Iredell – Saturday, 11 p.m.

Mecklenburg – Saturday, 11 p.m.

Montgomery – Saturday, 11 p.m.

Orange – Sunday, 11 p.m.

Randolph – Wednesday, 11 p.m.

Rowan – Sunday, 4 p.m.

Stanly – Sunday, 4 p.m.

Wilkes – Sunday, 11 p.m.
