GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Round after round of snow and ice this winter is still having an impact on construction projects and businesses across the triad.

The stream restoration project at Ardemore Park has been delayed one month from its scheduled end date of late March.

Snow and ice over the past few weeks have made digging and planting in soil along the stream’s banks impossible.

"It just washes it away," said Ted Partrick, city engineer.

"It’s been a bad winter," said Kevin Baker, executive director of Piedmont Airport Authority.

Piedmont Triad International Airport is having a rough winter too.

"We have a drop in revenue," Partrick said.

Winter weather in North Carolina and in other major cities led to canceled and delayed flights.

"You lose just about all of your flights, that's a whole day lost,” Baker said. “That's three percent of the month."

It’s money not just that the airport loses in fares but parking, rental cars and concession.

Baker hopes they can recoup the losses in the next few months as they get ready for another round of ice Thursday night.

"Yeah we're prepared to attack it again overnight," Baker said.
