HIGH POINT, N.C. — A spring-like Sunday will be followed by a winter-like Monday afternoon.
We will see sunny to partly cloudy skies on Sunday with highs in the mid 60s.
Rain will arrive early Monday morning with temperatures close to 50 degrees, but our temperatures will fall during the day as cold air from Virginia moves in.
Rain may mix with and change to sleet by Monday evening. Sleet amounts should be light because the cold air will be trying to catch up to the rain that’s moving out.
Tuesday will be sunny but cold with morning wind chills in the teens. Afternoon highs on Tuesday will be in the low 40s.
Wednesday will be a little warmer with highs in the mid 40s.
Another system will approach the Piedmont on Thursday. Right now it looks like a cold afternoon rain with highs around 40 degrees for Thursday. With low temperatures around freezing for Friday morning, we could see some freezing rain but it should transition to rain as we warm up to 45 degrees during the afternoon.
