Downed trees reported near King; storms racing across NC

A line of thunderstorms moved through the Piedmont this morning, bringing gusty winds and thunder to many locations.

There are multiple reports of downed trees in King, including a tree that fell on Brown Road on Friday morning.

The line of storms is racing across North Carolina and is expected to impact eastern North Carolina later today.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for the eastern Piedmont expired at 10:30 a.m.

A Tornado Watch has been issued for Alamance County. The watch expires at 4 p.m. watches

This afternoon, our skies clear out and temperatures may actually fall, by late afternoon, into the lower 60s.

It will be mostly clear overnight and dry with lows tumbling into the mid-30s by daybreak.

The weekend is looking fabulous, with dry weather, plenty of sunshine, and temperatures topping out in the mid- to upper-60s.
