Man arrested for violating sex offender registry twice in six months
ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — A man was arrested for the second time in six months for violating the sex offender registry, officials said Wednesday.
The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office charged Charles Andrew Russell, 60, with sex offender registry violation.
According to a report, officials say they received information on Feb. 4 that Russell was not in compliance with the law and issued an order for his arrest.
The sheriff’s office alerted the U.S. Marshal’s Office, who found Russell in Hamilton County, Tenn.
Russell, who had been living in Chattanooga, was extradited back to Alamance County.
Russell was jailed under a $75,000 secured bond.
