GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Here in the Piedmont the dulcimer is a common instrument, but the hammered dulcimer is a little different.

It's the one producing sweeter sounds, at least when one of Roy's Folks plays it.

Larry Kirwan plays the hammered dulcimer, an old Appalachian Mountain instrument that has been enjoying a resurgence in popularity.
