Sandy Ridge Road reopened after vehicle accident

COLFAX, N.C. — Sandy Ridge Road has been reopened after a vehicle accident involving a car and a power pole closed the road for several hours Monday evening.

The accident happened shortly before 3 p.m., according to the North Carolina DOT. The road remained closed until around 8 p.m.

According to Duke Energy, there were 374 outages in Guilford County Monday afternoon, many of which were in the Sandy Ridge Road area. Power has since been restored to those affected in that area.

FOX8 has not confirmed if these outages were related to the accident.

One person was transported to the hospital with a minor injury, according to Guilford County EMS.
