Police investigating armed robbery of Greensboro convenience store

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store in Greensboro Monday evening.

Officers responded to the Smile Mart, located at 5668 W. Market St., around 10 p.m. in reference to a robbery.

Upon arrival, officers were told that a man entered the store with a handgun and demanded money from an employee. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of currency and fled the scene on foot.

The employee was not injured.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and a skinny build. He was wearing brown pants, a black hooded sweatshirt and a dark colored bandana over his face at the time of the incident.

An investigation is ongoing.
