WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man has died Monday after being hit by two vehicles in Winston-Salem Sunday night.

The man, who police believe to have been in his ’40s, has not been identified.

Police say the collision happened on University Parkway in Winston-Salem around 6 p.m.

Daniel Barnard Mitchell, 81, of Rural Hall, was driving a Ford Thunderbird and Conner Donivan Mabe, 16, of Hillsville, Va. was driving a Subaru Forester northbound on University Parkway, when a person started walking across the road.

Both vehicles hit the man while he was walking.

He was pronounced dead on Monday at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

No charges have been filed, but police say speed doesn’t appear to be a factor.
