Durham girl hit by vehicle while getting on school bus

DURHAM N.C. – A Durham girl was injured Thursday morning when a vehicle hit her as she got on the school bus.

WTVD reported that it happened just before 7 a.m. in the 3600 block of West Cornwallis Road in west Durham.

Durham Public School officials said the girl was crossing the street to get on bus 371 to Jordan High School when the vehicle hit her.

Authorities said the girl was taken to the hospital for a broken arm and other non-life threatening injuries.

Durham police are currently investigating the incident. It is unclear if the driver of the vehicle will face any charges.

    This is frightening.
    I seem to be reading about a student getting hit by one of those BIG YELLOW BUSES at least every month.
