Power surges a problem for some Greensboro homeowners

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- One Greensboro homeowner recently woke up to the smell of burning plastic, saying it was due to a power surge that destroyed some of his personal property.

He is not the only one.

FOX8 On Your Side Consumer Reporter Melissa Painter found out that 10 homeowners in the same problem in the same neighborhood.

    Replace “The Grid” and bury the cables??? Um, there’s a reason that that has only been done in upscale neighborhoods…it’s expensive! The developers of those areas usually foot the bill for underground lines and that cost is past on to the residents. So, unless these folks are willing to cough up the extra dough for this, tough luck.

      you sound like some of the people that I have talked to that work for Duke Power I bet you could get a job as one of there engineers
