Couple arrested in string of Randolph Co. vehicle break-ins

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A couple accused of breaking into multiple vehicles in Randolph County has been arrested.

 Brian Bourn, 30, of Trinity, and Theresa Chapman, 26, of Thomasville, were taken into custody without incident Wednesday thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip.

Bourn and Chapman have been charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle, felony larceny and felony possession of stolen goods.

Deputies with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office say the break-ins occurred in the Finch Farm Road of Trinity.

Reports of these break-ins started Jan. 4, 2014, with the most recent occurring on Jan. 14.

There have been at least a dozen vehicles broken into with money, electronics, tools, debit/credit cards being stolen.

One of the break-ins was to a work truck with several expensive electrical meters and computers having been reported stolen.

Investigators recovered approximately $35,000 in stolen property from the car break-ins.

Both Bourn and Chapman are in the Randolph County Jail under a $24,000 secured bond.

      This is certainly not Mr. Bourn’s first rodeo. He may very well be a habitual felon with his record in Guilford County. He shouldn’t even be on the street. As for Ms. Chapman, it isn’t her first contact with law enforcement either… if she keeps hanging out with Mr. Bourn it will not be her last either.

      What happened to the good ole days of smoking a bowl. We never stole or hurt anyone. These hard drugs today are killing people.
