ELON, N.C. – Elon University officials have announced that Luke Bierman has been named the new dean of the school’s law school.
The school said Bierman is recognized as a national leader in experiential legal education and a highly-accomplished attorney.
Bierman will join Elon Law as dean and professor of law on June 1, according to school officials.
Bierman succeeds George Johnson, who is stepping down as dean after five years and will continue to serve as a full-time Elon Law faculty member.
Bierman is currently associate dean for experiential education and distinguished professor of practice of law at Northeastern University School of Law.
He previously served as general counsel for the Office of the New York State Comptroller from 2007 to 2010.
