SPOKANE, Wash. — A woman who was rear-ended while sitting at a red light in early January was shocked to find that the “driver” of the car that hit her was a Chihuahua, according to KREM.
According to the report, Tabitha Ormaechea said that immediately following the collision she looked and saw no one in the car, but then noticed a Chihuahua peeking his head over the steering wheel.
The dog’s owner, Jason Martinez, said he had stopped at a store and gone in, leaving his dog Toby in the car.
“I didn’t know what to think. Someone just ran into the store and asked if anyone has a gold car and I said, yeah, me why,” Martinez told KREM.
Apparently, his dog knocked the car out of gear, causing it to roll down the street and collide with Ormaechea’s vehicle.
No one was hurt and the damage was minimal, but Martinez said Toby’s driving privileges have been revoked.
