Fire damages home, displaces family in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Firefighters responded to a fire at a home on Lancelot Lane Thursday afternoon.

The fire took place at a house located in the 1600-block of Lancelot Lane shortly after 2 p.m. Firefighters had the fire under control by around 2:45 p.m.

No one was injured.

Initial damage estimates were $40,000 in property damage with an additional $30,000 in damage to contents inside the home.

The Red Cross is assisting the displaced family who resided in the home.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
