Suspect sought for 2 armed robberies in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are investigating the armed robberies of two local businesses on Friday.

According to police, a suspect entered Sally’s Beauty Supply on Maple Avenue around 1:30 p.m., displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene.

Around 2:30 p.m., a man believed to be the same suspect entered a Home Depot on Kirkwood Drive and attempted to purchase an item in the garden section. As the clerk was completing the transaction the suspect said he had a weapon and demanded money from the register. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot toward Alamance Road.

It is believed the suspect may have entered a vehicle, but no vehicle description was given.

The suspect is believed to be responsible for several robberies in the Burlington area. He was described as being a black male, 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a stocky build.
