GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro and two other North Carolina airports were not selected for Boeing’s new plant, according to Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan.
Boeing was looking at Greensboro and about 40 other cities as a potential place to put one of their plants. The plant would build the company’s first ever 777x jet.
If Greensboro had been chosen, Boeing would have brought anywhere from 1,500 to 8,000 jobs to the city.
Vaughan said Boeing was also looking at Charlotte and Kinston in North Carolina, but passed up all three spots. Boeing representatives have not announced their final decision.
