Winston-Salem man shot, killed during argument

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man is dead after police say he was shot during a confrontation with another man Wednesday night in Winston-Salem.

Officers responded to 975 Ziglar Road where they found Zachary Mahone Fett, 26, lying inside a vehicle and suffering from a gunshot wound.

Fett, of 2518 W. Clemmons Road, Winston-Salem, was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.

Matthew Jay Bliven, 27, of 212 Pulliam Road, King, was also on the scene. Through an investigation, it was discovered that Bliven and Fett were having an argument when a gun went off and Fett was shot.

No criminal charges have been filed at this point and no other suspects are being sought.

This is the 13th homicide in Winston-Salem for 2013 as compared to eight at the same time in 2012.

The investigation is ongoing.
