CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A family’s dog that was stolen five years ago was returned home this week, according to WSOC.

According to the report, Tomika Reeves said that someone stole her dog, Carson, when she left him outside on a leash five years ago.

Reeves searched extensively for her dog and even kept some of his toys in the years after he went missing.

Animal control discovered the dog walking around Pineville on Sunday. Due to Carson being micro chipped, animal control was able to locate his owners.

“He had to get back used to us but once he got in the house, it was like everything was back to normal like he’s never left,” Reeves told WSOC.
