Homeless shelter opens in Eden

EDEN, N.C. — A temporary shelter for the homeless opens today in Eden.

According to the News and Record, Melissa Galloway, a co-founder of Home of Refuge Outreach, will make her rounds to pick up people at the Reidsville Soup Kitchen and the Eden Salvation Army between 4 and 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Home of Refuge is a small operation which opens for the winter and shuts down at the end of March.

It can hold 25 to 30 people.

The shelter relies on donations and volunteers to stay in operation.
