House fire does extensive damage, displaces family

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. — A house fire on Carriage Woods Drive this morning displaced a family of three and did extensive damage to the home.

Greensboro Fire Department Deputy Chief Clarence Hunter said firefighters responded to the 5200-block of Carriage Woods Drive around 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

Initial damage estimates were $115,000.

The fire is under investigation and the American Red Cross was informed of the family’s situation.
