HIGH POINT — Good Friends of High Point, a local non-profit organization whose resources help ease the financial burden of the less fortunate in crisis situations, will hold its annual fundraising luncheon on Wednesday.
The luncheon will take place at the High Point Country Club.
This year, Lavern Chapman, Nicole Culler, and Margarita Kerkado will share stories of clients that have been helped by Good Friends funds.
Laura Bunch will provide musical entertainment and will be accompanied by the talented Keith Byrd on the keyboard.
“There are so many deserving folks that are in need of critical help this year. Our goal is to help a family with their immediate need so that they will then be empowered to help themselves,” said Jenny Ragsdale, Good Friends Co-Chair.
Good Friends of High Point is celebrating its 17th year with the help of Ragsdale and her Co-Chair, Meredith Covington.
Proceeds from the annual luncheon, which raised over $42,000 last year, are allocated to the Community Clinic of High Point and the Community Resource Network for financial assistance with critical emergency needs.
“Whether a family is unable to pay their rent, heat their home, pay a utility bill, or purchase a medical prescription, our mission is to help them resolve their crisis and let them know that the people in their community care,” said Covington.
The cost per person for the luncheon is $20, and guests will be asked to make a contribution on the day of the event.
Seating will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the luncheon will begin at noon.
Reservations can be made by mailing form and payment to Good Friends of High Point, PO Box 5671, High Point, NC 27262.
To help keep expenses down, tickets will not be mailed. Please make checks payable to Good Friends. Organizers will reserve tables of 10 for groups.
