BERMUDA RUN, N.C. — A new Zaxby’s restaurant is scheduled to open in Bermuda Run in mid-April.

Work is already under way on the restaurant’s site, which will be on U.S. 158 at Medical Drive.

Jamie Page, one of the owners of the new Zaxby’s, said the site was chosen because of the area’s small-town atmosphere and the number of people living in the area.

“A lot of people who live there do business in the area,” he said.

Zaxby’s, he said, bridges the gap between fast-food and fine-dining establishments. The atmosphere will be relaxed and comfortable with a brick façade and large-screen TVs.

“Atmosphere-wise, we feel like this will be one of the nicest sit-down restaurants in Bermuda Run,” Page said.

The Zaxby’s chain includes about 600 restaurants, mostly in the Southeast. It is known for chicken sandwiches, salads and its dipping sauces.

There is also a Zaxby’s off U.S. 421 in Clemmons.
