HIGH POINT, N.C. — The High Point City Council unanimously approved a package of bonds that would be used to finance streets, sidewalks, Parks and Recreation and Fire Department facilities.

The bonds, totaling over $6 million, must still be approved by state regulators before the city can move forward with the plans.

According to Councilwoman and former Mayor Rebecca Smothers, once the bonds are approved the city will develop a series of detailed projects for the funding.

So if the city can borrow the money they will then decide how to blow it? No wonder government is broke.
