Man accused of inflicting multiple fractures on infant daughter
JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — A Hubert man is accused of fracturing the elbow, ribs, leg and feet of his infant daughter.
According to the Jacksonville Daily News, Adam Kenneth Patten, 24, was arrested Thursday by the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office.
He was charged with four counts of intentional child abuse resulting in serious physical injury against his daughter, Adalyn, who was born in September.
According to warrants, Patten fractured his daughter’s elbows after pulling her from her car seat while the strap was still around her arm, fractured her ribs when he said he squeezed her sides on a changing table in an attempt to force her to defecate.
It was reported that Patten is accused of fracturing her daughter’s feet and fracturing her legs while attempting to change her diaper and pulling on her feet to straighten them out, also according to warrants.
Patten was placed in jail under a $35,000 bond. He is scheduled to be in court on Dec. 5.
